Surrealistisch/Surreal

This really is a great theme! I used a tulip painted by my niece Kim (www.kim-jansen.nl) and Heerlijk Brocante. The grass is from a brochure on green energy, the face from a brochure on party wigs and the hat from a collage sheet. The castle is a freebie from.... sorry I don't remember. I had fun creating this one. Visit the 3 Muses for more surrealism.

  2. Oh no, it is certainly surreal, a rampaging Dutch tulip! Well, it's not exactly rampaging but it doesn't look too friendly...Perhaps being the only tulip equipped with a tophat has made it rather arrogant...

  5. Jose - There is a science fiction novel called "Day of the Triffids" - the Triffids being man-eating flowers!! I thought of this when I saw your fabulous picture. I love the way you have placed the mysterious face inside your beautiful tulip. This is certainly surreal! And it is certainly a fantastic piece of artwork.

  19. Jose-
    Ozstuff mentioned Triffids, too..
A science fiction writer named JohnWyndham wrote a novel called "Day of the Triffids" ...I believe back in the 60's. The premise was intelligent plants that (possibly) came to earth through space were hell-bent on taking our poor little fertile earth over...movie wasn't bad; but as these things go, the book was better, due to Wyndham's craftmanship with the written word.
